Michael Rose
Michael Rose is a composer, conductor and teacher based in North Buckinghamshire. Formerly the Music Adviser for Bedfordshire, he conducts the Bedfordshire County Youth Orchestra, Bedfordshire Symphony Orchestra and Bedford Sinfonia and is Director of the Olney Conducting Workshops.

Health regained
Michael has been semi-disabled for just over a year following a car crash in June 2011 when he broke his leg and hip. Despite his injuries, he has managed to continue his programme of conducting with the Bedfordshire Youth Orchestra, Bedford Symphony Orchestra, Bedford Sinfonia and Bedford Choral Society, including back-to-back performances of The Dream of Gerontius in April. Following a hip replacement in May, he is now on the way to a full recovery.
This problem has however meant that there have been no Olney Conducting Workshops since last year. We hope to begin scheduling OCW evenets in the autumn. Michael has however continued to give private lessons in conducting and composition.

75th Birthday Concert - photos
Pictures are now avilable of Michael's 75th Birthday Concert, with soloist John Lill and a Special Invitation Orchestra, which took place on Sunday, 11th January 2009 at the Bedford Corn Exchange.
